Overview
Sealing and debris protection in a single flange element
The built-in stainless strainer insert stops foreign material entering the network — gravel, sand, sludge or plant debris — from damaging water meters, pumps and other sensitive fittings. It is effective protection for both new and existing systems, up to DN600, and a chemical-resistant version is also available.
The concept is useful in new installations and as a retrofit protection point where there is no space for a separate pipeline strainer. The correct mesh, material and acceptable pressure loss must be considered for the actual flow conditions.
A correctly specified vulcanized gasket adapts to the manufacturing tolerances of pipes, flanges and fittings while resisting pressure fluctuation, temperature change and loads from ground movement. That matters especially in distribution networks, chambers, water-meter assemblies and industrial connections.

Where it is installed
One flange, two jobs
The strainer gasket sits in an existing flange joint, so it needs no additional pipe length, no extra chamber space and no separate support. In practice it is fitted directly upstream of the component that must be protected — most often a water meter, a pump or a control valve.
Because it is a gasket first, the same compound rules apply as for our standard flange gaskets: the elastomer is chosen for the medium, the temperature and the chemical exposure. The mesh is chosen for the type and quantity of debris expected in that section of the network.

Can a strainer gasket replace a full-size pipeline strainer?
Not in every application. Hydraulic requirements and debris load must be evaluated for the specific installation.

Does it increase pressure loss?
Any screen adds some pressure loss. The mesh is selected so that the protection is effective without disturbing the flow conditions of that pipeline section.
