Spacer Gaskets and Length Compensators
Bridge installation-length differences without unnecessarily rebuilding the surrounding pipework.
Overview
81 mm missing? That is exactly the problem this solves
It happens constantly: an existing water meter or pump unit has to be replaced, while the geometry of the connecting pipes and flanges stays exactly as it was. The new equipment is shorter than the unit it replaces, and suddenly a simple replacement turns into pipework reconstruction.
JAEQUAS length compensators bridge that difference. Thanks to their internal construction — similar to our metal-reinforced gaskets — these rubber units also perform the sealing function, so no separate sealing element is needed.
In the DN50 to DN150 range they typically bridge around 9 to 103 mm of length correction per side, which means up to roughly 200 mm in total. The gasket thickness of 6 mm has to be included in the calculation.
Key capabilities
- Typical range DN50 to DN150
- Up to approximately 200 mm total length correction
- Sealing and spacing combined in one component
- No separate gasket needed
- Solutions for continuous service above 150 °C in selected compounds
More than a spacer
It also takes the stress off the fittings
A rubber length compensator does not only bridge the difference in installation length. It also reduces the mechanical stress acting on the fittings: it helps to compensate small axial deviations, movements caused by thermal expansion, and the inaccuracies that inevitably appear during assembly.
The result is that water meters, pumps and pipeline components are treated more gently, while the installation itself becomes faster and safer. This is particularly valuable during refurbishment and reconstruction work, where cutting or rebuilding the pipeline is undesirable — the existing network can be kept intact while the new fittings are installed correctly.
What it does beyond length
- Compensates small axial misalignment
- Absorbs thermal expansion movement
- Reduces assembly stress on meters and pumps
- Keeps the existing pipeline intact during refurbishment
Stock sizes
Frequently used lengths we try to keep on the shelf
These are the sizes we aim to hold in stock continuously. Other dimensions are produced to order; send us the old and the new installation length and we will calculate the required correction.
| Nominal diameter | Installed length L |
|---|---|
| DN50 | 78 mm |
| DN80 | 73 mm |
| DN100 | 78 mm |
| DN150 | 68 mm |
Stock availability changes; please confirm at the time of ordering. Add the 6 mm gasket thickness when calculating the total correction.
Selection & quotation
Information needed for selection and quotation
The more precise the input, the faster and more reliable our technical answer. For non-standard requirements, a drawing or a physical sample is the best starting point.
- Old installation length
- New equipment installation length
- DN and flange standard
- Pressure and medium
- Required total correction
- Temperature
We also have a solution for sustained temperatures above 150 degrees Celsius.

Missing 81 mm?
It often happens that an existing water-meter or pump unit has to be replaced while the geometry of the connecting pipes and flanges does not change. Missing 81 mm? A length compensator keeps the project moving when the new device is shorter than the one it replaces.
Thanks to their internal design — similarly to vulcanized metal-reinforced gaskets — these rubber units also perform a sealing function, so no separate sealing element is needed.
In the DN50–DN150 range they typically bridge around 9–103 mm of length correction per side, that is up to roughly 200 mm in total; the gasket, 6 mm, has to be counted on top of that.
Rubber length compensators are particularly useful during refurbishment and rebuilding, where dismantling or altering the pipeline is undesirable. The existing network can be kept intact while new fittings are installed safely and to standard.
The compensator does not only bridge differences in installation length: it also reduces the mechanical stress acting on the fittings. It helps compensate minor axial misalignment, movement from thermal expansion and inaccuracies arising during assembly — which protects water meters, pumps and pipe-network elements while making installation faster and safer.
We also have a solution for continuous service above 150 °C.
We aim to keep the most frequently used sizes in stock, for example: DN50 L=78 mm, DN80 L=73 mm, DN100 L=78 mm, DN150 L=68 mm.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Cannot find your answer? Send us the technical details and we will review the application.
How much length difference can be compensated?
Approximately 9 to 103 mm per side in the DN50 to DN150 range, which is up to roughly 200 mm in total. Exact feasibility is confirmed per installation.
Is a separate gasket required?
No. JAEQUAS length-compensating rubber elements perform the sealing function as part of the component.
Can these be used at high temperature?
Solutions for continuous service above 150 °C are available in selected compounds. The exact limit is confirmed for the compound supplied.
Which sizes are usually in stock?
DN50 L=78 mm, DN80 L=73 mm, DN100 L=78 mm and DN150 L=68 mm are the sizes we try to keep available.
